Whole School Anti Bullying Day

On Monday we hosted our first Anti Bullying event in school. We were joined by our Shared Education school, St. Oliver Plunkett and pupils from Mossgrove Primary School. Our peer ambassadors took a lead in organising the day alongside Mrs Burns. Our pupils from P4-7 enjoyed a series of workshops taken by Lee Kane from the Northern Ireland Anti Bullying Forum. Laura from Women's Aid led an assembly for our P1-3 pupils focusing on being a good friend and sharing our peer ambassador recipes for 'friendship soup’. This was a perfect way to explore the qualities of a being a good friend. Laura also took our peer ambassadors and the other young leaders from our visiting schools for a Bully Buster workshop. We were very fortunate to have Mrs Hill and the pupils from Ballyclare High School Online Safety team come and work with us and to share the excellent work they do in driving forward Online Safety in their school. A special word of thanks must go to these pupils who gave up their day off to come in and be part of our day. We finished the day with our peer ambassadors presenting to our parents (thank you to all who came) on how we promote an anti bullying culture in school. We are very proud of the work our peer ambassadors do - what a great job they did that day! Well done and thank you to Mrs Burns for having organised such an informative and useful day!
