Primary 4 Visitors

We have had an exciting week with different visitors in Primary 4. On Tuesday Mr Dickey, our local ornithology expert and photographer came to visit. Mr Dickey showed us a vast array of his own photographs of birds from around Northern Ireland, shared really interesting facts and answered some of our questions. Many thanks to Mr Dickey for giving up his time to share his wonderful knowledge with us.

I learned that the magnificens, one of the biggest flying birds to exist had a wingspan bigger than our classroom. Lucie Morrow

I enjoyed looking at all the different photographs of birds. Ollie Stewart

On Thursday we enjoyed a visit from Emma and Jane from Young Enterprise. We completed the ‘Our Community’ programme, looking at the different people, businesses and organisations that make up our community and made some important decisions. We talked about wants and needs and the different skills needed to fulfil roles and jobs when we are older. Claire from RLC also came in to talk to us about her job in aviation as an aeronautical engineer. Thank you to Emma, Jane and Claire for delivering such an enjoyable and engaging session.

We found out that jet parts are made in different countries and then put together. Harry Wilson

I enjoyed when we took a vote as a class to think of a new shop for our town. Sophia Parkinson
