P6 Viking Trip

On Wednesday the Vikings invaded the North Down Museum in Bangor. The sun was shining and despite a few technical problems with transportation, all the children enjoyed a wonderful trip. They travelled back in time; sampling everyday life in a longhouse, writing in Viking runes and making clay broaches with intricate designs. The children listened to a fabulous story about the origin of the Viking gods and had an opportunity to try on some real Viking costumes. The beautiful weather allowed us to have a nice picnic on the green and an opportunity for some Viking battles. All the children had a fabulous time and were complimented by the museum staff on their excellent manners and behaviour. Well done Viking Warriors!

We had such a great time learning about the Vikings. I especially liked listening to the large horn that Peter blew! Ellie Parkinson P6DH

I was dressed up as a brave Viking Warrior. The chainmail that covered my head and the helmet were very heavy! Joshua Tweed P6DH
