Football Tournament

On Thursday, the senior football team travelled to Carrick to participate in the East-Antrim Primary Schools football tournament. We began the day with a 1-0 win over Whitehead PS, Austin Adair beating the keeper with a low shot into the far corner with only a minute left on the clock. In our second game against Carnmoney PS we conceded early; Elijah Adair in nets made the initial save before the ball looped up and over the keeper, into the back of the net. Zak Lannie equalised, driving his volley past the keeper from an Ollie Wilson corner before Carmoney took the lead again. This time the striker scored a spectacular long range effort over the outstretched arms of Elijah and into the top corner. A defensive 'lapse' allowed Carnmoney to score their 3rd goal of the game soon after to make it 3-1 at the final whistle. In our next game against Whiteabbey PS, Zak Lannie and Aiman Abd Razak both had shots well saved early on while Piers Turkington's long range effort went just wide. Whiteabbey scored the only goal of the game from close range despite the efforts of Bailey Moore and Reuben Edmondson in defence. We played Victoria PS in our next game. Victoria's keeper made some good stops early on from Ollie Wilson, Austin Adair and Aiman Abd Razak but as the deadlock remained unbroken, Victoria gradually grew in confidence. A ball down the right wing fell kindly to the Victoria player who hit it first time, over the head of Elijah in goals and into the back of the net to make it 1-0. In our final game against Carrick Model, the Fairview boys took an early 3-0 lead; with goals from Aiman Abd Razak and Austin Adair (2). Carrick didn't give up and hit back with 2 goals of their own to set up an interesting final few minutes. However, we held out to win 3-2.
