 Primary 4 Art Club

Welcome to the P4 Art Club page. The Art Club is an after schools club set up for all primary 4 pupils who wish to attend. We meet every Tuesday afternoon from 3pm until 4pm in Mrs. Houston's classroom. In Art Club, all children have the opportunity to express themselves freely through a variety of medium such as paint, charcoal, clay, collage materials, pencil, pastels and junk materials. All children are encouraged to interpret each art challenge in their own way. At the end of each art session we each have the opportunity to appreciate each others' work and raise the self esteem of each pupil. We also provide opportunities for children to appreciate the work of famous artists: old, new and local.

This term we have been very busy in art club creating and designing lots of wonderful things. We had the opportunity to draw lovely houses on a scraperboard. It was very messy but we had some fantastic pieces of work!

This scraperboard is only an example but our boards were the colours of the rainbow and looked amazing.

We were also able to make beautiful photo frames using lots of card and glitter. We used the picture frames to put around some lovely drawings of our families. We were able to present these to our mums and grans on Mothering Sunday.

We also had a Jumping Clay workshop on Wednesday 18th March. Mrs. Houston took the workshop. We made some brilliant keyring cracked eggs. They looked 'smashing' and the workshop was simply eggcellent!!! We had to work very fast to get our eggs completed within the hour but the finished product was well worth it. We were able to put our finished egg in an Easter basket that we made the week before.

Here are some photos of the activity.

We are looking forward to lots more fun activities in the new term.

If you have an artistic talent and would like to share your knowledge and skills with our P4 Art Club we would love to hear from you.
