Senior Choir Performances

There was a very busy end to the Spring Term for the Senior Choir. On Friday, 7th April the choir attended the Larne Music Festival where they won their class as well as the overall choral group of the festival.

Later on that evening the choir participated in the Mary Peters’ Trust event - ‘Go the Distance’. They once again sang two wonderful pieces and received much praise for their performances. The executive manager for the trust has written to the school acknowledging how the choir ‘added a really wonderful element to the concert and impressed everyone there’. It was an honour to have been asked to participate in such an event.

Finally then, you may have heard two radio broadcasts over the holidays on Radio Ulster. The first programme was the ‘Heats’ stage of School Choir of the Year, followed by the semi-finals. For those of you who don’t know, the senior choir has now progressed to the finals of this year’s competition. This will be broadcast live on Radio Ulster at 2pm this Sunday, 30th April. We would like to wish the choir all the very best for Sunday. Just remember that the whole school community is so very proud of your achievements this year. Go and enjoy this amazing experience of singing in the Ulster Hall! You will all be great!
