Football Success

Last Friday we played a 'reserve' team football match against Ballyclare Primary School. It was a very even game early on, the best chances to open the scoring falling to Keaton Height who was lively upfront. Andrew Cooper and Reuben Ennis did well in defence and cleared any Ballyclare attack. Great passing and interchange on the left led to the opening goal. Joel Stevenson and Nathaniel Ireland worked well together before Joel's cross fell to the feet of Isaac Millar who slotted the ball past the Ballyclare 'keeper. Just before the half goalkeeper Luke Wilson made a crucial intervention as the Ballyclare striker closed in on goal.

In the second half Fairview had an early chance to extend the lead but Keaton's shot was well saved by the visiting 'keeper. Half time substitute Lois Simpson was finding some space on the right and it was her pinpoint cross which led to the second goal. Lois received the pass from Nathaniel Ireland, crossed the ball into the box over the head of the defender and straight to the feet of Zak Lannie who made it 2-0. Ballyclare pushed for a goal late on but Lee Trainor and Andrew Cooper in defence calmly cleared their lines to help maintain the clean sheet. Well done to all boys and girls.
