Active Travel Week

We had a busy Active Travel week with in-school activities for each year group, ranging from our P1s showing fantastic perseverance as they ditched their stabilisers to our Silly Sock cycle. Our BIG BIKE BREAKFAST was a particular success, with over 250 people joining our Bike Bus from Ballyclare Presbyterian Church.

All pupils P2 to P6 had the opportunity to take part in the Cycle Skills challenge. Some classes had nearly every child on a bike or scooter - a fantastic effort! A huge thank you to Mrs Massey, who did an amazing job managing the challenges all week, not an easy job with so many children on bikes.

Silly Sock cycle on Friday saw 287 bikes or scooters used as transport to school, as well as over 80 walkers. Over 100 children completed 9 or 10 active travel journeys during the week and Eloise Kirk (P2) won a brand new scooter as the winning entry! Thank you to all our parents and carers for your support throughout the week and thank you to Miss Bolton who co-ordinated the week's events.
