Shared Education - Day 2

On Friday 16th March, pupils from both Fairview Primary School and St. Oliver Plunkett Primary School met to carry out the first of their lessons on the theme of 'George's Marvellous Medicine' and also to begin their series of lessons based on PDMU/CRED and reconciliation.

Some of the activities are listed below:

  • A character study looking at specific characters from the novel, supported by activities incorporating Art and ICT
  • Instructional writing- describing how to make our own 'Marvellous Medicines'
  • A lesson on capacity leading to chemical reactions and then to some very exciting 'explosions' experiments
  • Further science activities including 'Potions' and 'Making Slime'
  • PDMU/CRED activities from the 'Learning, Living Together' Pack

Some quotes from the children:
Christina:  “My favourite part was making slime with the children at St Oliver Plunkett Primary School.”
Mea: “I made a friend from the other school. We sat together during each lesson and played together in the playground.”
Lucie: “My favourite part was doing a science experiment with Mentos. I also made lots of new friends.”
Daniel: “I liked the Coca Cola and Mentos experiment the best.”
Max: “I liked St. Oliver Plunkett's playground because we chased each other around the big square.”
